The Southeast CC baseball team continues to churn out top shelf talent. Here is a rundown of the players who are moving on in their careers with coaches comments.
Elliott Peterson - C - University of Arkansas - SCC Coaches on Peterson: "His maturity was the biggest thing he grew on. We feel he had some of the best bat skills in the country. He does an outstanding job of understanding situations as a hitter."
Kohle Kerin - OF - Arkansas State University - SCC Coaches on Kerin: "He hit 16 homers as a freshman and 19 home runs in his sophomore season. He cut down on his strikeouts, and increased his batting average by 60 points from year one to year two. He was a big part of what were able to do offensively."
Drew Borner - INF - University of Nebraska Omaha - SCC Coaches on Borner: "Borner was the first member of our 2022 recruiting class. He's tough and he made everyone around him better. He had a phenomenal year as a freshman, hitting .404. Last year, he was our two-hole guy, and got on base alot which help start our offense."
Avery Moore - OF - Purdue University - SCC Coaches on Moore: "His size and speed make him a unique baseball player. He's 6'3, and being able to run, throw, and hit for power, he led the team in homers. He stole north of 25 bases last year too. Purdue is impressed with his athleticism."
Cameron Teinert - RHP - University of Nebraska Omaha - SCC Coaches on Teinert: " He was our ace for the past two years. He throws in the low 90's, and as he matures more, he's going to be a pretty good arm for UNO."
Cody Bruss - LHP - Central Missouri University - SCC Coaches on Bruss: " Cody is a lefty and when it comes to game-day, he's really, really tough. He's got a bulldog mentality and when it's right, he can beat just about anybody in the country."
Chase Houselog - RHP - Incarnate Word University -Â SCC Coaches on Houselog: " He came to us from a DIII program. He throws sidearm and touches 90 on occasion. He had a really good year as one of our two closers. He's very deceptive with a good slider, and he's a smart kid too."
Aaron Petty - RHP - Concordia University - SCC Coaches on Petty: "Aaron threw alot of innings out of the bullpen for us, and had a couple spot starts, and ended the year with a 1.40 ERA in relief. He can pound the strike zone as he had alot more strikeouts than walks. He did a good job every time we needed to use him."
Landon Mueller - RHP - University of Nebraska Omaha - SCC Coaches on Mueller: "Landon has one of the best true 12-6 breaking balls that he can spin alot. He matured alot in the last couple of years. He's really displayed some maturation. He'll continue to get better, and he'll be pretty good for the UNO program."
Jackson Kendall - RHP - Liberty College - SCC Coaches on Kendall: " Jackson was our go-to closer this year. Give him the ball when the game is on the line and he'll shut it down. He's big, he's physical, he's exactly what Liberty looks for in their pitchers. He's really learned to trust himself during his time with us."
Kaleb Carpenter - LHP - Fort Hays State University - SCC Coaches on Carpenter: " Kaleb is one of the toughest kids we've ever coached. He's very mentally tough. He transferred in and battled some injuries, but kept working and grinding. He can start, you can bring him out of the pen, he throws alot of strikes and isn't scared of anybody"
Keinan Lentell - RHP - Wayne State College - SCC Coaches on Lentell: " Keinan throws a boat load of strikes, pounds the zone with three pitches. When he is on, he's really, really good."
