Hailing from the tiny village of Hallam, Nebraska, Brooklyn Ridley has made big waves on the SCC Shooting Sports team.

Ridley is a sophomore who attended Lincoln Christian High School. This year alone she's already claimed wins in six separate events and overall high female honors at the first two shoots she attended. At the Tiger 450 at Fort Hays State, she led the team in Super Sporting Clays with an 88, Doubles Skeet with 43/50, and Doubles Trap with another 88, putting her at 393 targets, which also led the women. The following week she dominated at the Tech Tiger Shootout, winning Trap with a 94, Doubles Skeet with a 90, and Sporting Clays with a 74. She was also runner up in skeet with a 95, which put her at a total of 353 and solidifying her first individual win of the season.

She studies Agricultural Management and Agricultural Education, and is planning on working at a Co-op and starting her own business as a taxidermist after graduation. Ridley always had an interest in agriculture, and when she heard that SCC had a broad agriculture program and a shooting sports team, she knew it was the perfect school for her.

Ridley started shooting when she was 16, and plans on continuing to shoot as often as she can after graduation. She loves the community around shooting sports, and says she's never met more people (even opponents) who want each other to achieve their goals.

"Bobcats Do More means going the extra mile not only in sports, but also in education. We as Bobcats strive to push ourselves and others to the next level in everything we do."

Michael Phelps is Ridley's inspiration. She admires his dedication to his sport and how he pushes himself. In the same vein, she says that her teammates would describe her as dedicated.
