The SCC Softball team will host Northeastern JC this Friday and Saturday in Beatrice, NE. It's a four game series that could set the stage for a strong post season push for both teams.  Head Coach Gary Lytle is expecting his team to be ready. "We'd like to play a little better than we have the past couple times out."

The Cats have dropped four straight, and Lytle believes the toll of a long season is coming into play. "We've had some injuries and sickness on the team, this isn't an excuse, but it's kinda where we're at right now." Lytle adds, "I'm comfortable we'll be in the Region 9 tournament, but it's still important for us to play well."


It'll be sophomore day on Saturday. Lytle is appreciative of what this group endured "This group has been through a lot, like last year when there was only one sophomore on the team. They learned how to go through a college season, and they did it pretty much on their own without a whole lot of leadership from older girls." "They've contributed a lot to the growth of the program."
