Bobcat Wrestling Post Season Prospectus

2/15/2026
Three short years after building the Southeast CC wrestling program from the ground up, Head Coach Terry Pack and his staff have the program on the doorstep of a national title. "If the eye of the storm stays away from us at the right time, we could get 10 guys on the stand, which would be a phenomenal feat." The men's and women's teams are loaded with talent. "We have a lot of kids who are capable of doing some great things." The program has already produced three national titlists with a good possibility of more, much more, this year. "If you look at what we talked about in the beginning, year one, we wanted to put out a good product that featured what we were trying to build. Year two, we wanted to keep building on that, and by year three, we wanted to have ourselves in a position for a national title. We've done that. Right now, there are a couple teams ahead of us that are just really, really good."

What's happened here seems miraculous, but Pack came in with a plan, and he's worked it everyday since taking the job. "People ask me, "What are you doing different from everybody else?" Honestly, we made a goal, we set a goal, we live by the goal, we trust that process, we work for that process, and if we have people who don't want to follow that process, then we don't need them.
Between having the right kids in the right spots is a key but also having the right kids, kids who are doing the right thing, producing an environment that is going to be good for a long time is what we needed to do, and we have that going right now.

Pack's reputation preceded him to Beatrice. He'd built the Legends of Gold Regional Training Center in Beresford, South Dakota. With that, came connections that run extremely deep in the sport. When recruits found out Pack had taken the Southeast position, they came out of the woodwork. "For recruiting efforts, the success has been good and bad. In the beginning, a lot of kids wanted to come here, it was like, "Awe, it's a new program, I'll be able to go there and start." Now we have become so deep, we have guys on our second string who would be ranked nationally if they were somewhere else. Recruits are now saying, "Maybe I don't want to go there anymore because they're so good that I don't feel I can go there and be competitive." I think we've lost some kids because of that, but I also think the higher quality kids seek that and want to be on a team that can win a national title, and they want to be around all-Americans, and other national champions, so it's a two sided story, on one hand it's amazingly good, and on the other side, it can cut deep."

With the NJCAA Regionals set for February 21st, and the national championships scheduled for March 6th and 7th at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa,  Southeast CC is set to take a serious swing at the hardware. Pack provides a snapshot of the talent that will attempt to get it done.

125lbs - Brandon Baustert: Ranked #9 in the country. "Brandon Baustert had to sit out a couple years, he came back. He's been a real blessing in disguise. He's battled injuries, he's a little older, and has to go through the grind like the 18 year old's, but he's been right there for us.

133lbs - Miles Anderson: Ranked 4th nationally. "Miles is good. He's a transfer from Little Rock. He's come in and made a big impact. He's an Omaha kid, and he wanted to be a part of this because he knows the Nebraska guys. It's truly refreshing to see what he's been able to do this year coming off of an injury at the Division I level."

141lbs - Jeremiah Brown: Ranked 8th in the nation. "We originally brought him in to be our 125 or 133 pounder, but those guys are so good, we bumped him to 141, and he's put together a very nice year. He's been ranked as high as five and as low as nine so he's right there to being an all American."

149lbs - Ayson Rice: Ranked #2 in the nation: "149 Ayson Rice was ranked number one all season at 157, when Keith Smith (the defending national champion) became eligible, Keith became number one. Ayson went down to 149 and originally was ranked number one, but lost to the defending national runner up who lost to Keith Smith in the finals last year. Now Ayson is ranked second."

157lbs - Keith Smith: Ranked #1 in the nation & the defending national champion. "Keith Smith is a smart kid, he knows how to win, and when he needs to win, I think he'll continue to figure that out.

165lbs - Silas Foster: Ranked 7th in the nation. "Silas Foster Has been ranked as high as fourth, he's at eight or nine now, but he's a kid that if he gets hot, he could put himself up there on the podium."

174lbs - Dylan Scott: Ranked 10th in the nation. "Dylan Scott He obviously lost his spot at 184 so cut back down to 174 and he won that spot. He's doing a really good job for us right now."

184lbs - Jack Doughty: Ranked 6th in the nation. "One of the biggest surprises for us this year has been Jack Doughty. He lost his wrestle off at the beginning of the year to Dylan Scott, a returning national qualifier. He stormed back and just got better and better. He's beaten Dylan three times in a row and so that spot is his now. He's beaten the number two ranked kid in the country. Jack's been a kid coming in from Colorado, we knew he had the ability to be really good, we just weren't sure when."

197lbs - Victor Montoya: Ranked #1 in the nation. "Victor Montoya is ranked number one and is wrestling extremely well. I think it's going to take a tough kid to beat him. Victor is like a shot in the arm, he's such a positive influence for the team. He appreciates things differently than some of the other kids, he's from Cuba, and he doesn't have his family support like some other kids do from the states, and he just appreciates what other people are doing for him, his teammates too. It's vital to the process."

285lbs - Ira Jenkins: Ranked 4th in the nation. ": Ira has had some tough losses, but he's avenged everyone of those losses except one. Ira is the kind of guy if he gets hot on the right day, he could win a national title at heavyweight."

The SCC women's wrestling team has also exploded on the scene. Head Coach Jake Hamilton was brought in by Terry Pack to lead the way, he's done a fantastic job. The team is currently ranked 2nd in the nation by The Open Mat and NJCAA rankings. "Coming into the season, we knew we were going to be really tough. I thought for sure we would be a top 3 contender for a national title run. It's a testament to the hard work the girls have put in this season. We've got total buy in from the girls. It goes to show you what hard work can produce. All signs are pointing to a great finish." Hamilton gives us a synopsis of his contenders.

103lbs - Bertha Cabrara: Ranked 3rd in tha nation. " Bertha is an unbelievable hard worker, super energetic, she does everything you ask of her. She holds herself accountable. There's no sugar coating it with Bertha, she does everything to the best of her ability. She had some tough draws earlier in the season, but she's firing on all cylinders now."

110lbs - Mileena Notaro: Ranked 2nd in the nation. "Her secret to success is that she know she can hang with the best of them, and not just at the juco level, but at the four year level too. She's a wrestling rat, she loves being on the mat. She's doing two a days, loves the private lessons in the afternoons. We've preached to her that the hard work with pay off, she's doing the work and is prepared for the biggest moments."

117lbs - Emma Albanese: Ranked #1 in the nation. "Emma came out of the gates ranked in the top six. She had a head to head match up with the returning champ from Indian Hills and pinned her pretty quickly, not once, but twice this season, so it wasn't a fluke. Emma is the real deal."

124lbs - Jasimen Ortega: Ranked 4th in the nation. "She wrestled at 117 and at 124, for nationals, she's wrestle at 124. She's the girl that we can plug in at any situation, and we know she'll go out there and tow the line with anybody. She was a little banged up in the middle of the season, but we have her healthy again, and she's ready to go."

131lbs - Abigale Holtz: Ranked #6 in the nation, AND Lacy Lemburg: Ranked #5 in the nation. "This is a great problem to have with this pair. They're great in the room together. I tell the girls all the time that you have to be grateful to have a room full of so many talented wrestlers. They're wrestling with the best girls in the country every single day."

138lbs - Lillian Hageman: Ranked #3 in NJCAA Rankings. "The sky is the limit for Lillian. She's only wrestled for two years, and she's only wrestled free style for six months. She's had to fill the shoes of Neveah Leonard, the former bobcat, and done that nicely this year. Those two actually wrestled each other this season. It was good to see Lillian hang tough with her."

145lbs - Koryn Klein: Ranked 6th in the country. " She's another Nebraska kid on our roster, she's from Ord, NE, and a military kid. She's filled in really nicely. We didn't know what we were going to get with her because she took some time off, we thought there might be some rust, she doesn't have a lot of free style experience, but she's just a go-er with that military background, she's really hard nosed.  We're looking at her to produce points for us at the national tournament."

160lbs - Aniya Roberts: Ranked 2nd in the country AND Billie Bonwell: Ranked #3 in the nation. "Once again, this is another situation where you have to be grateful to have a pair of wrestlers like this being practice partners. It's not to often you can say you have the numbers 2 and 3 wrestlers in the country facing each other everyday. They talk about how awesome it would be if they faced each other in the national finals."

180lbs - Diesel Janovich:: Ranked 6th in the nation. "She's a girl that we picked up from the Omaha area. She's very workmanlike, does what she's supposed to do. She wasn't even a state placer coming out of high school, and here she is arriving on the national scene. She's not real flashy, but she's strong and she'll tow the line with anybody." She's another integral part of what we have going on here, because we can count on her to keep matches close and give herself a chance to win at the end of matches. She's been a great ambassador for SCC wrestling. She's helped us get a couple recruits because she talks so high about what we're doing."

207lbs - Martha Hinneh: Ranked #1 in the nation and the defending national champion. "Everybody knows what she's shooting for. It's kinda like, "try to stop me because I'm coming" Martha does what Martha does, and most times it ends with her opponent on her back."

235lbs - Kirsten Kpoto: Ranked #5 in the country. "She hasn't wrestled very long, she came from Illinois. She took 5th in the Illinois state tournament last year. She'll wrestle Martha in practice and manage pretty well against her. I'm hoping she'll make a name for herself down the stretch."
