In the last Region IX basketball showdown with Central CC, Southeast CC was too much and brought the final piece of championship hardware home with a 73 to 58 win over the Raiders.
The Bobcats also completed the three game season sweep of CCC with the win. The Bobcats are awaiting their next opponent to come out of the Region 13 tournament later today.
Southeast extended their season with a double-double from Viktor Kachalouski. He had 18 points and 13 rebounds. Chang Deng came off the bench to contribute 15 points. PJ Newbill dropped 13 points on the Raiders. Southeast improves to 11 and 19 on the season. Head Coach Joel Wooton delivered an outstanding job of coaching in his 20th campaign with SCC. He convinced a group of talented individuals that the team game was their path to success. "When we started playing as a group and mixing in some of this talent, these guys picked up on it and saw the results." Wooton added, "We've checked one of the boxes. Now we have an opportunity to check the next box."
