The Southeast CC Women's Softball team captured the Region IX regular season and the post season with a pair of wins against Central CC over the weekend. The Bobcats took the best of three series by the scores of 2 to 1 and 6 to 1 on Saturday. Southeast improves to 18 and 18 for the season. First year Head Coach Gary Lytle was named Region IX Coach of the year for his efforts.
Southeast advances to the district championship next Friday at Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Lytle and the Bobcats are ready to face the NJCAA DII, 8th ranked Eagles of Kirkwood CC. "We look forward to this opportunity, and to compete in the national tournament."
