Southeast added a new defensive wrinkle to their arsenal on Saturday afternoon against Hesston College. The Bobcats deployed a trapping full court press that presented problems all day for the Larks. SCC turned defense into offense in the 72 to 61 win at the Lincoln Campus Gym. The Bobcats improve to 3 and 1 on the season. Fr. Jessica Wertenberger continues to play well. She led the scoring with 17 points. She nailed 7 of 10 free throws. Fr. Sophie Nguyen has been impressive running the offense so far this year, she knocked down 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Fr. Aleziah Anderson had another strong showing, hitting on 15 points and 6 rebounds.
The successful 4 game homestand gives Southeast CC momentum they need as they take on their biggest challenge of the year on Tuesday night. The Bobcats will face NJCAA DII, #2 ranked Johnson County CC. The Bobcats return home next Sunday to take on Iowa Central.
