Southeast CC had five players score in double figures as the Bobcats improved to 2 and 2 on the year with an 84 to 78 win over Hesston College on Saturday. SCC held a slim three point lead at the half, but they put together a solid second half performance to secure the win.
Fr. Lachlan Curtin led the way in scoring with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Fr. Marquis Toliver added 16, So. Jonan Clussen scored 15 points. Viktor Kachalouski had 13. Fr. PJ Newbill came off the bench to score 11. Hesston found their range from beyond the arc, allowing them to stay close throughout the contest. The Larks dropped 11 of 26 three pointers. It was 13 turnovers by Hesston that hampered their efforts for the road win. Conversely, Southeast didn't record a miscue.
The contest sealed the four game, season opening homestand for the Bobcats. They'll be on the road this week at Johnson County CC on Tuesday night, and the Reiver Classic next Friday and Saturday for a pair of games.
